Welcome to the Baystone Boutique Hotel & Spa website. By accessing or using our website and online booking platform (powered by ResRequest), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation. The content of this site applies only to https://baystone.mu

1. Core Hotel Policies

Adults-Only Sanctuary: Baystone Boutique Hotel & Spa is strictly an Adults-Only hotel. We do not accept reservations for or accommodate children or guests under the age of 18.
Pet Policy: The hotel does not offer pet-friendly facilities; pets are strictly prohibited on the property.
Accessibility: Please note that the design and physical concept of the hotel is not suitable for wheelchairs.

2. Dress Code Regulations

To preserve our exclusive dining and guest environment, guests must adhere to our property dress code:

Daytime (Restaurants, Lobby, Indoor Areas): Casual attire is required. Men must wear shirts (shirtless attire is inappropriate). Women must wear a cover-up over swimwear.
Evening: Smart casual or island chic.
Beach: Please note that topless sunbathing is strictly illegal and not allowed in Mauritius.

3. Reservation & Booking Confirmation Process

Price Fluctuations: Kindly note that prices displayed on our website are subject to change in the course of the season and may differ from prices published elsewhere. When using our website, you accept that prices published elsewhere may differ from yours at the time of booking.
Binding Agreement: Subject to our confirmation, and also to your provision of valid and correct credit card details for payment, your reservation will be irrevocably binding upon your clicking on “Confirm” on our website.
Email Communication Responsibility: As we will send you a confirmation of your reservation by email, it is your duty to provide us with an accurate email address. Our confirmation email will serve as proof of a valid reservation and will contain relevant information about the reservation and particulars of the hotel concerned. If you do not receive such a confirmation, please notify us immediately by e-mail at baystone@baystone.mu.
Arrival Requirements: Please read and check carefully all the information contained in our confirmation email to ensure that it conforms to your reservation. You are required to present our confirmation email when checking-in at the hotel, in addition to a valid passport.

4. Legal Cash Payment Restrictions (FIAMLA 2002)

In strict compliance with Section 5(1) of the Mauritian Financial Intelligence and Anti-Money Laundering Act (FIAMLA) 2002, Baystone Boutique Hotel & Spa will not accept cash payments in excess of 500,000 rupees or an equivalent amount in foreign currency. Any person who makes or accepts a payment in cash exceeding this threshold commits an offense and, pursuant to Section 8(1) of the Act, shall on conviction be liable to severe statutory fines and penalties.

5. Standard Deposit & Cancellation Fees

All prices listed on this website are in EUR/USD/MUR, unless specified otherwise. Promotions displayed on this website can be changed or withdrawn without prior notice. Blackout dates may apply. Official cancellation requests must be sent by mail to baystone@baystone.mu. Refunds are processed exclusively back to the original credit card used for booking.

Standard Stay Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the total amount due is required to confirm and secure your booking. The remaining balance should be settled directly at the hotel upon arrival.
Standard Cancellation Window:
- No cancellation fee for stays cancelled up to 3 days prior to arrival.
- Cancellation as from 3 days prior to arrival: 100% of the amount deposited will be charged.
No-Shows & Unexpected Departures: No-shows will be charged 100% of the deposited amount. Unexpected early departures are non-refundable for the remaining booked nights.
Non-Refundable Offers: Requires a 100% upfront deposit at booking. No refunds are permitted for cancellations, amendments, or unused nights.

6. Prime Season Terms (December 27th – January 2nd inclusive)

Prime Deposit Terms: A deposit of 50% of the total amount due is required to confirm and secure your booking. The remaining balance should be settled by November 15th. For bookings made as from the 16th of November, a 100% deposit is required.
Prime Cancellation Window:
- Cancellations between 60 and 45 days’ prior to arrival: 50% of the total amount will be charged.
- Cancellations 44 days and less prior to arrival: 100% of the total amount will be charged.
Nightly Basis Calculation: Please note that cancellation charges for prime season are calculated on a nightly basis and are not governed by your arrival date. Even if a stay begins prior to prime, the prime dates would incur cancellation charges once a cancellation falls within the timescale above.

7. Minimum Stay Restrictions

Stays until 23 December: A minimum of 2 nights is required.
Stays falling on nights 23, 24, 25, 26 December: A minimum of 3 nights is required.
Stays falling on nights 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 December: A minimum of 6 nights is required.

8. Check-in and Check-out

Check-in Time: Standard check-in is from 14h00 (2:00 PM).
Check-out Time: Standard check-out is by noon (12:00 PM).

9. Honeymoon Policy

Honeymoon offers require a minimum stay of 3 nights and remain valid for up to one year from the official wedding date.
Your wedding certificate and identity card will be requested at the time of check-in. Should you fail to produce your valid wedding certificate upon arrival, an extra cost will be charged directly at the hotel.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Mauritius. Any disputes arising from hotel bookings or site utilization shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Mauritian courts.
